Time Is Uncertain

This story will be in an upcoming Gift of God Newsletter but I wanted to share it here as well. We see lots of people come through our doors every year at Gift of God Street Church, and every one of them have their own story, their own burdens, and their own pain. I met Rich about three years ago, soon after I started helping at GOG, and I knew that he struggled with substance abuse. He was a likable guy and well-mannered when he was sober, but a loud, obnoxious, and combative person when he wasn’t. As I was going to work one morning, I came upon a crash site just down the road from my workplace. There were pieces of plastic and glass and metal strewn for a good 70 feet and then I saw the

Why Such High Prices?

I often get asked by people, why is the food at the farm stand and the farmers market so much more expensive than the grocery store? Or on a similar note, I get questions on forums and facebook on, "how much is the going rate for..." and you can fill in the blank from Tilapia to Lettuce, Corn, Tomatoes, Eggs, ect. There are two aspects I want to talk about that go into pricing your produce. 1. You're not comparing apples to apples. Let's take eggs for example. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” After Jesus rose from the dead, he spent 40 days with different people before his final ascention. What was he doing all this time? The Bible doesn't record in detail what he said or all of what he did, but I be

Update to the Farm Tools

If you haven't already checked out our free farm tools databases, head over to our website and click on the farm tab and choose farm tools. Why would I bother to program these databases and give them out for free? Because the less time you spend in the office means more time you spend in the yard, and the more time in the yard means more dollars in your pocket. I could easily sell these databases for $50 a piece, or at least $20 a piece and people would think they were getting a steal, but I would rather offer this as a gesture of goodwill to the small farming community. Of course if you find the software helpful and would like to make a donation then I would very much appreciate it. Remem
