What Is Aquaponics?
What is Aquaponics, and more importantly, why should you care?
Normally when we think about vegetables, we think of gardens or fields with plants growing in long rows in the dirt. This is what we've done for generations, but there are some limitations to growing this way.
Limitations like
Striping nutrients from the soil that will need to be replaced with natural or petrochemical fertilzers
Water consumption by rain or irrigation
Growing season limited by the weather
What if
We could feed nutrients to the plants naturally

Increase the growing season by 4 months?
This almost sounds too good to be true, but with Aquaponics, this method of growing is a reality.
We start by feeding delicious Tilapia a scientifically formulated diet that gives them the protein, fiber and nutrients that they thrive on instead of human waste and other undesirable garbage that the Chinese import into our grocery stores.
Next, the ammonia rich water that would be toxic to the fish is sent to grow beds and floating raft beds where nitrifying bacteria breaks down the "waste" from the fish and make it available for plants that grow with their roots submerged in the recycling water solution.
Finally, the water is recirculated from the plants back to the fish, clean and ready for the cycle to start over again.
What you get is delicious, and wholesome fish and vegetables that you'll feel proud to serve at your dinner table, knowing that you are safe from pesticides, herbicides, growth hormones, and salmonella laden fertilizers.
