Missions Conference

This past weekend we enjoyed a missions conference at our home church, and I was impressed by how each of the four speakers had such diverse ministries, but each had a resounding theme in their message about being called to ministry. None of them had any mystical calling to go to specific place to do a certain thing, but all of them had a strong calling to obey the word of God. Go therefore and make disciples. That word Go is not a direction, it's a call to action. Go now! As you are going, or wherever you are going, make disciples. Wherever you find yourself, that is where you should start obeying God's command to make disciples, baptize and teach. The Discipleship Center is just that, i

Time and Discipleship

Time Time is a precious commodity for us. We each get 24 hours in a day to spend on things like sleep, eating, working, playing, entertainment, studying, ect. Unfortunately for most of us, we’re overbooked on time. We have to rush here and there to get to the next big event on our schedule. Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” No Time For That We all know Jesus last and great com

Satan's Power Today

It’s that time of year again when we get to Halloween. I normally give a little different message than normal because people are interested in things not of this world. I hear a lot of people talking about satanic oppression and demon oppression or possession, and I think that it should be addressed Biblicaly. The Bible, as we’ve mentioned before, is God’s word. By that we mean that if God was here today and were to speak to you, the things He would tell you are the things that we can read in the Bible. Also, God’s is the author of truth, His word is true, and is never false. It is true in matters of Science, in matters of History, in matters of Life, and in matters of Spirituality. Many

Within Christian circles, everyone wants to be a disciple of Christ, or be discipled, but no one seems to know what that really means, how does it happen, what is it, how long does it take, ect. The Intangibles What It Is By Definition the Greek word matheˉteˉs: refers generally to any “student,” “pupil,” “apprentice,” or “adherent,” as opposed to a “teacher.” In the ancient world, however, it is most often associated, with people who were devoted followers of a great religious leader or teacher of philosophy. So much to do

It's the middle of October 2017 and the Gift of God Street Church should almost have the Men's and Women's emergency shelter open. While there is a need for food and housing for those in need, our main location feels more like a band-aid to help enable people who are satisfied with where they are spiritually as well as their dysfunction in society. We will always have those who are unable to work because of their age, or health or some disability, and we will always want to help them, but there is a large number of able bodied people who have made it their full time occupation to remain dependent on others. This is where The Discipleship Center comes in. I had this ongoing desire to create a
